Ffotohive invites you to take a photograph and contribute it to a living collage of your town, city or neighbourhood.
Participants are invited to find a ʻhiveʼ - one of several designated locations throughout the city marked using a specially designed non-slip vinyl marker. Locations may be inside or out, easy to stumble upon or in need of finding.
at a hive, participants are asked to take a photo using their smartphone or digital camera. The hive shows them which direction to point the camera in. Our software scans each photo and adjusts where necessary.
photos are added to the project by uploading them via Twitter, or directly through our website.
ffotohive draws all the participantsʼ photos into a single, living, breathing collage. The image constantly shifts, existing for only a moment. Itʼs a truly digital photograph. The work is presented online. It is available anywhere and everywhere. It can be viewed on a smartphone and accessed through a desktop computer. It can be projected into public space, schools and empty shops.
ffotohive was commissioned by Ffotogallery for the Cardiff International Festival of Photography 2013 and culminated with a solo show at the end of the festival.www.ffotohive.com
